TOBA TEK SINGH: Faisalabad DC Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh has refused to allow the PTI-backed opposition alliance “Tehrik Tahaffuz-e-Ayin-e-Pakistan” to hold a public meeting in the city on June 14.

In his reply to the application submitted by the opposition alliance through its coordinator and spokesperson Hussain Ahmad seeking permission for the event, the DC said: “It is to inform you that in pursuance of recommendations of police department and decision of district intelligence committee, your application for grant of permission to hold rally/gathering on June 14 is regretted.”

It is pertinent to mention that the Lahore High Court judge Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh had directed the Faisalabad DC on May 23, on Tehrik’s writ petition, to consider the application for permission of the rally after hearing the applicant.
