LAKKI MARWAT: Authorities finalised arrangements for peaceful observance of Eidul Azha in Bannu and Lakki Marwat district on Wednesday.

In Bannu, Deputy Commissioner Shah Saud cancelled leaves of heads of line departments and asked them to ensure their attendance at their duty stations. Chairing a meeting at his office, he said that administration would also impose restrictions on one wheeling, display of weapons, firing in the air and boating and bathing without life jackets in dams.

He directed the relevant officials to ensure cleanliness of parks and recreation places and checking of swings to avert any untoward incident.

Mr Saud said that a special control room would be established at his office for quick resolution of citizens’ complaints during Eid days. He said a traffic plan was devised to avoid traffic congestion on roads during Eid days.

He said that public transport managers would face stern legal action if they violated official fare list.

In Lakki Marwat, Deputy Commissioner Rahmat Ali Wazir also reviewed arrangements for Eidul Azha at a meeting held in Tajazai on Wednesday.

He directed heads of civic bodies to launch cleanliness ahead of Eid and finalise arrangements for quick disposal of offal and sacrificial animal wastes.

ARREST: Police arrested four persons including two proclaimed offenders in injured condition in Lakki Marwat on Tuesday night.

An official said that a party of Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak was dispatched to FTM Road when authorities were informed about movements of bandits there.

He said that robbers opened firing on policemen, triggering an exchange of fire for some time. “Later, police captured a kingpin of the gang identified as Arab Khan in injured condition along with his two accomplices,” he claimed.

He said that police seized arms, ammunition and hand grenades from the arrested men while their remaining accomplices managed to escape. He said that the injured robber, who was wanted by police in robbery cases, was shifted to a hospital.
