TAXILA: The National Highway and Motorway Police official was suspended and an inquiry was initiated against him for his alleged misuse of power.

According to a spokesman for National Highway and Motorway Police, the official while issuing ticket to a driver for traffic violation onIslamabad-Peshawar motorway (M-1) near Burhan in the limits of Hassanabdal Police station, threatened him of dire consequences.

As the matter was brought into the notice of high officials, they suspended the official and formed a committee headed by DSP to investigate the matter.

The spokesman said that strict departmental action would be taken against the official, if he is found guilty of misuse of power.
