RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued notice to Bahria Town for encroachments, plotting/cutting and circulating brochure in violation of approved layout plan (LOP) in Phase VIII of mouza Gali.

It also issued notices to the owners of two illegal housing schemes namely Zak City located in mouza Harnal, Gujar Khan and Hoon Farm House located in mouza Adhwal Tehsil Rawalpindi for starting development work and marketing without the approval from RDA.

According to a press release, RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza said RDA has issued notice to the owner of Bahria Town Phase VIII and two illegal housing schemes. She said that the illegal housing schemes are encouraging general public to buy plots fraudulently and stealing their life earned deposits.

She said that it had been directed Director Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering branch to take action against illegal advertisements and marketing and register FIRs against owners of illegal housing schemes.

Moreover, she said that the sponsors of illegal housing schemes have been warned to stop the marketing of their unapproved / illegal housing scheme immediatelyand should contact RDA for getting NOC / approval of the scheme as per law, otherwise, strict legal action will be taken against them.

She said that the general public is requested in their interest to avoid making any kind of investment in illegal and unauthorized housing schemes.

She said that the public was also advised to check from RDA website www.rda.gop.pk before investing in housing schemes.

She said that the owners and sponsors of illegal housing schemes are misleading the public through advertisements. In this regard, the Planning Wing RDA has also requested the Cyber Crime Wing, FIA to take legal action against the illegal and misleading advertisements of illegal housing schemes to prevent the public from falling in their scams.

She said the above-mentioned offences committed by the owners of illegal housing schemes and also cognizable under rule 37 of Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules, 2021. Legal action will be taken against them.
