LAHORE: A man allegedly jumped from the rooftop of his house to commit suicide after killing his wife over a petty domestic issue in Ghaziabad area here on Thursday.

A police official said the suspect, Zohaib, and his wife Komal were not enjoying good relations due to petty family issues, and financial crunch they were facing.

He said Zohaib was said to be an addict and used to sell household items to buy drugs.

On Thursday, the couple exchanged hot words leading to a brawl. In a fit of anger, Zohaib attacked his wife with a knife and allegedly killed her on the spot and later jumped from the rooftop of his house.

He was rushed to hospital with multiple injuries, including bone fractures.

The police shifted the body of the woman to the city morgue and lodged a case against the suspected killer.
