ISLAMABAD: Chief Commissioner and Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa on Saturday directed the deputy commissioner to supervise the arrangements for cleanliness, security and other issues on the occasion of Eidul Azha.

He also ordered establishment of a control room in Islamabad Safe City to monitor the arrangements, which will work under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and DIG Operations Islamabad police.

He halso directed the CDA officers as well as assistant commissioners to supervise the cleaning operation on Eidul Azha.

According to a statement, the chief commissioner chaired a meeting regarding the arrangements for Eidul Azha. The meeting was attended by deputy commissioner as well as officers of CDA, ICT and the Islamabad police.

He directed the Islamabad police to make special security arrangements on the occasion of Eidul Azha. He directed that security arrangements should also be made for public places, markets, worship places and important buildings.

The chief commissioner announced that free biodegradable bags will also be distributed among the citizens on the occasion of Eidul Azha.

While giving instructions, he said that the number of biodegradable bags should be increased. He further directed the CDA that additional staff should be deployed to maintain the cleanliness of the city.

He further said that a complaint management system should be made in the city to listen to the complaints of people on the occasion of Eid. He further directed that on the occasion of Eid, awareness banners should be displayed throughout the city to maintain cleanliness and special awareness should be provided to the citizens about maintaining cleanliness.

The chief commissioner directed that action should be taken against those who sell animals outside the dedicated cattle markets. In this regard, assistant commissioners, DMA director and director general enforcement should take action against those selling animals outside the allotted cattle markets.

He further directed the city managers to ensure that the animals brought to the cattle markets are vaccinated.

Meanwhile, the CDA chairman visited Faisal Mosque and directed to keep the mosque cleanas the largest gathering of Eid prayer in Islamabad takes place in this masque and a number of dignitaries offer Eid prayer there.

The chairman also directed the officials concerned to do whitewash and the repair work wherever needed.

Earlier, Mr Randhawa had made the fountains of the mosque operational, which were lying out of order.
