RAWALPINDI: Two labourers died from suffocation after going down into a deep well in Satra Meel near Murree on Saturday.

Rescue 1122 was informed from a fuel filling station that a labourer went into the well to place a ring on its bottom but didn’t come out. Another labourer went down to rescue him and both disappeared.

An ambulance along with a motorbike and extra staff were sent to the spot from the nearby rescue station.

The rescuers pulled out Atif, 20, a resident of Phulgran, and Mohammad Umair, 32, of the well and shifted them to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
