KARACHI: Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon on Tuesday said that the Special Protection Unit (SPU) would provide ‘foolproof’ security to Chinese nationals living in the metropolis.

He said this while chairing a meeting to review the security arrangements for Chinese citizens in the city.

He formed a four-member committee for the security of Chinese.

He said it would be the responsibility of the district police to provide ‘security clearance’ of residential areas where the foreigners were living. He directed different units to provide additional force/personnel to the SPU immediately.

The IG also issued directions for security audits of projects/offices and residences of Chinese citizens/experts and staff.
