Pir Ghaib incident condemned

Published March 20, 2006

QUETTA, March 19: Senator Saeed Ahmed Hashmi of the ruling PML, Senator Mohabat Khan Marri and spokesman of the Balochistan government have strongly condemned the tragic incident of Pir Ghaib and termed it a terrorist act. In a statement issued here on Sunday night, Senator Saeed Ahmed Hashmi said that the killing of innocent people at a picnic spot was the worst act of terrorism and it was against the centuries-old tradition of Balochistan to kill people, especially settlers.

“It was a barbaric terrorist act,” Senator Hashmi said and added that such incidents were harming traditions of Balochistan. He said that the elements involved in this inhuman act were not political activists, but terrorists who were making settlers their target for sake of their nefarious designs.

He said that earlier a bomb had exploded close to the house of late senator Zammrad Hussain in Mastung who was leader of the National Awami Party and his services for the rights of Balochistan were not hidden from anyone while many other settlers were playing their role in different nationalist parties.

He said that the leaders of these nationalist parties should not have remained quiet over these terrorist acts and should play their role for maintaining the centuries-old traditions of Balochistan.
