LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday issued bailable arrest warrants for PTI’s activist Tayyaba Raja and other suspects who failed to appear despite being granted bail in the Askari Tower attack case.

Judge Khalid Arshad conducted the hearing in Kot Lakhpat jail.

The judge summoned all suspects at the next hearing and observed that copies of the charge sheet would be distributed among them.

Among those present were incarcerated former governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Senator Ejaz Chaudhry, and Dr Yasmin Rashid.

Fashion designer Khadija Shah, who is on bail, also attended the hearing.

The judge adjourned the hearing till June 13 (tomorrow).

Gulberg police had registered a case against the leaders and workers of the PTI for attacking and ransacking Askari Tower at Liberty roundabout during last year’s May 9 riots following the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan in a graft case by the NAB.
