SAHIWAL: The Chak Badian police claimed on Thursday to have resolved the murder of a woman at village 26/SP and arrested her husband who confessed to killing his wife with a scissors after she learnt about his alleged affair.

After 80 days of investigation, the police identified Niaz Ahmed as the murderer of his wife Parveen Bibi at village 26/SP. Pakpattan Saddar DSP Zahooruddin told Dawn about the arrest and the registration of a murder case based on a complaint filed by Parveen’s brother.

Reports said on March 23, the police received a call reporting that a woman had been killed by unknown assailants during a robbery.

DPO Tariq Wallayat along with DSP and the Chak Badian SHO rushed to the scene and found the woman murdered. Her husband Niaz in his complaint claimed the robbers had killed her and taken away money and some gold. Police started investigations and included Niaz in the investigation circle and he confessed to the crime.
