AGGRIEVED CANDIDATES: The Career Testing Services Pakistan (CTSP) recently conducted a written test without informing the candidates about it. I tried to inquire from the relevant quarters, but no one responded. Later, I was told that the interviews of the qualified candidates had been conducted and a text message had been sent to every candidate. This is an absolutely false claim. The written test was conducted with a very small number of candidates despite the fact that a lot of applications had been filed. The applicants were not there on the day of the test simply because they had not been informed by the testing agency. Will the testing agency make amends?

WATER SHORTAGE: The residents of Golden Town and Green Town in Karachi have been facing a severe shortage of water for the last several weeks. The water supply has remained erratic, and people have to go without water supply for days. This has resulted in immense hardships that the people have to face. The relevant authorities should regularise the water supply to the affected areas and ensure that the people receive potable water.

EYESIGHT PROBLEMS: Eyesight issues are on the rise in urban areas. One of the most important causes of the situation is bright LED lights of vehicles, including motorbikes. Replacing halogen bulbs with LED lights causes difficulty to drivers coming in from the opposite direction, and leads to accidents.

The authorities should take due action.

EXPRESSWAY LIGHTING: The lack of adequate lighting on the Lyari Expressway in Karachi, particularly on sharp turns, poses a serious threat to the safety of the commuters. Road accidents on the expressway are not rare, especially at night. The National Highway Authority should install brighter lights all along the expressway to make the commute safe.

If it's committed to peace in Balochistan, the state must draw a line between militancy and legitimate protest.
