TAXILA: A man was killed after being run over by a train near Taxila Railway Station on Tuesday, police said rescue sources said.

Quoting witnesses, police said Usama Amjad, 24, was heading to his hometown Havelian and wanted to board Hazara Express but instead embarked on 130 down Multan-bound Thall Express.

When the train passed Taxila junction, he realised he had boarded the wrong train.

He tried to disembark from the moving train near Mughal Market but lost his balance and fell under the wheels of the train and died.

His body was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) Taxila by Rescue 1122.
