QUETTA: Two young sisters drowned in the Zirk Dam in Pishin district on Wednesday after one of them accidentally slipped into the dam and the other jumped in to rescue her.

Pishin Deputy Commissioner Jumma Dad Khan confirmed the incident occurred in the Killi Haikalzai area.

The girls, identified as Breshna Bibi, 16, and Roshina Bibi, 17, were residents of a nearby village and had come to visit the dam. According to reports, one of the sisters accidentally slipped into the dam while they were sitting near the water. In a desperate attempt to save her, the other sister jumped in, but both were unable to escape the deep water and drowned.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Levies officials rushed to the scene and called in a PDMA swimmer to recover the bodies. The sisters’ bodies were retrieved and transported to the district hospital, where they were officially identified.

After completing the necessary medico-legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the grieving family.
