ISLAMABAD: An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) of Islamabad on Thursday granted post arrest bail to local leaders and activists of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), arrested last week after they held a political rally outside the National Press Club.

Kohsar police have registered the FIR against Shoaib Shaheen, Mohammad Ali Bukhari, Amir Masood Mughal and others under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and Anti Terrorism Act.

While Shaheen and Bukhari secured the pre arrest bail, Mughal along with 10 others were taken into custody. ATC judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, however granted the post arrest bail to Mughal and others on Thursday.

According to the FIR, the protesters clashed with the police, snatched weapons, and damaged public property. The protesters, led by Shoaib Shaheen, Aamir Mughal and Ali Bukhari, had gathered outside the National Press Club to protest against the government.

The FIR alleged that during their protest, the PTI local leaders tried to hit the policemen through their private cars. It was further stated that the PTI workers, carrying guns, misbehaved with the police personnel deployed at the site and also had a scuffle with them.
