The holidays must not go wasted, every day should be enjoyed and spent creatively. Today’s craft is perfect for any cat lover who wants to bring a touch of kitty flair in their room. With just few a few simple art supplies, you can create an amazing canvas that looks cool as well as shows your love for your ‘purrfect’ companions. So let’s start!

Things you need:

  1. Foam sheets: 3, in a gradient of the same colour. For example, if you choose blue, you can use a light blue, a medium blue and a dark blue.

  2. One A-4 sized coloured paper (choose a background for the canvas).

  3. White glue or clear glue.

  4. Scissors

  5. Ruler

  6. Black marker

  7. Pieces of white foam to make eyes.

  8. Pencil

Directions:

  1. We’ll use a gradient of one colour for a cool effect. First, choose a background colour that complements your cat’s fur. I chose khaki to make my pink shades pop; picture 2.

  2. We’re making three cats: two of the same size and one

slightly smaller. The larger cats are 7 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide, while the smaller one is about 4.5 inches tall.

  1. To make the cat bodies, draw curves or semi-circles matching the heights we mentioned and cut them out of foam sheet, picture 3.

  2. Now, cut out three heads, three pairs of ears and three crescent-shaped tails from the foam sheets.

  3. For the heads, cut oval shapes that are 2.5 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. You can adjust them slightly to match the cats’ bodies; picture 4.

  4. Take the head pieces and glue the ears onto the backs, picture 5.

  5. Carefully glue the cat bodies onto the background sheet, keeping the order in mind. The two larger cats face each other, while the smaller cat is positioned on one of the larger ones, facing right; picture 6.

  6. Before gluing the heads permanently, place them on the bodies to ensure they’re in the right spots; picture 7.

  7. Glue the tails to their matching coloured cats; picture 8.

  8. For the faces, cut small circles from white foam for the eyes and glue them onto each cat’s face. Once dry, use a black marker to draw whiskers and a mouth; picture 9.

  9. Glue the heads onto the bodies, and your adorable cat canvas is complete! n
