OKARA: The district police registered five cases against 138 PTI leaders and workers and some senior lawyers of Tehsil Bar Association Renala for holding demonstrations.

These FIRs were registered with police stations of City A Division, Saddar Okara, City Renala, Haveli Lakha and Chorasta Mian Khan.

Among those booked are National Assembly ticket-holder Mahr Muhammad Arshad Mahar, provincial assembly ticket-holders Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem Sadiq, Mahr Abdul Sattar, Rai Hammad Aslam Kharal, Sardar Ali Haider Wattoo, Mahr Javaid Iqbal and PTI women wing president Shazia Lashari and senior lawyers Fahad Zaman Bhatti and Kashif Majeed Alvi. Five women and 36 arrested workers were released after they got bails from the courts.

The FIRs were registered on sections of the PPC and MPO.
