LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday directed a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to recover the allegedly abducted two brothers of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf social media head Azhar Mashwani by June 27.

Earlier, JIT head DIG Investigation Zeeshan Asghar and its members appeared before the court.

Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi was hearing a petition filed by Mashwani’s father Habibur Rehman for the recovery of his sons — Zahoorul Hassan and Mazharul Hassan.

A government lawyer submitted a report of the Intelligence Bureau to the court.

A police official informed the court that the incident occurred at night and that investigations were ongoing, but no clues had been found yet.

The judge asked police to use surveillance to track the alleged abductees down.

The petitioner’s lawyer suggested that geofencing could also help identify the persons involved in the abduction.

The judge directed the police to ensure recovery of the alleged abductees by the next hearing.
