DADU: A six-year-old boy and his two-and-a-half-year-old sister died reportedly after eating rotten food in Allah Warayo Kaloi village, Talti union council, near Sehwan on Tuesday.

Talti check-post in-charge ASI Mohammad Khan Lashari said that the children, Faizan Kaloi and his sister Kunis, were taken to Syed Abdullah Shah Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment when they fell unconscious but they died during treatment.

He said that police were also looking into rumours circulating in the area that the children had been poisoned. If the rumours proved right, police would arrest the murder suspects, he said.

The victims’ post mortem report would establish the cause of their death, said Dr Moeenuddin Siddiqi, director of Syed Abdullah Shah Institute of Medical Sciences.
