PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has announced to hold a multiparty conference to take the political leadership into confidence regarding the current situation.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif said the conference would take place after the PTI-sponsored tribal peace jirga, which is scheduled for Wednesday (today) in Peshawar.

The statement said all the political parties would be invited to the conference.

Barrister Saif said time and venue of the conference would be announced soon. He said the conference was aimed at briefing the political leadership about the current situation.

Barrister Saif said senior party leadership would attend the Wednesday’s jirga, which would discuss the proposed Azm-i-Istehkam operation and prevailing law and order situation in the merged districts.

He said a resolution would be passed by the jirga, which would be placed before the chief minister and also be tabled in the provincial and national assemblies.
