Ex-PA deputy speaker Ikramullah dies

MARDAN: Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly deputy speaker Ikramullah Shahid passed away after prolonged illness here on Wednesday. He was 75.

He was father of Mushtaq Ahmad, secretary to Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa, Prof Jawad Ahmad of King Fahad University, Saudi Arabia, and politician Iftikhar Ahmad.

Ikramullah Shahid remained the PA deputy speaker during the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government.

He also authored several books, including Pakistan Freedom Movement.

Mr Shahid was the son of late Maulana Midrarullah Midrar, who was one of the prominent leaders of the Pakistan Movement.
