TOBA TEK SINGH: Gojra Additional District and Sessions Judge Abbas Rasool Warraich sentenced a man for life imprisonment and imposed Rs500,000 fine on him for kidnapping and raping a minor girl.

Convict Ghulam Dastgir of Chak 342-JB, Nawan Lahore, had kidnapped 10-year-old girl raped her on Feb 5, 2021. He was brought to the court from the district jail where the judge awarded him life term in the case. He was asked to pay the compensation to the girl’s family.

SHOT DEAD: A young man shot dead a woman, injured her husband and brother-in-law before opening firing on himself over a monetary issue at Chak 358-GB Ganju on Thursday.

Complainant Manzoor Ahmad claimed in his FIR that Muhammad Hassan came to his home and demanded Rs100,000 loan. When he refused to pay him the money, Hassan became angry and opened indiscriminate fire. As result, his wife Nazia Bibi died instantly while he and his brother, Maqsood Ahmad, was injured. He said the suspect also shot himself. All of the three wounded had been shifted to the district headquarters hospital.

SUICIDE: A youth committed suicide at village Wassupwala near Athara Hazari, Jhang, after his parents refused to arrange his marriage with a girl of his choice.

Shazil Baloch, a motorcycle mechanic, was disappointed after rejection of his proposal and he shot himself with a gun in the presence of his parents at his house.

ACCIDENT: A car driver died after his speeding car hit road divider on Sahianwala interchange road in Chak Jhumra tehsil of Faisalabad.

The deceased, identified as Asjeel Ahmad (35), was on the way to the motorway from Faisalabad when the accident happened.

Meanwhile in Kamalia, a pizza delivery boy died as a result of collision of his motorcycle with a tractor-trolley on Kamalia-Pirmahal Road near Chak 717 GB. He was identified as Muhammad Husnain (18).

LABORATORY: Industrial workers of Faisalabad will be provided with free of cost blood and urine tests facility in a laboratory to be set up within six months.

This was stated by Punjab Labour Welfare and Human Resource Department Secretary Muhammad Naeem Ghous in a meeting during his visit to Faisalabad.

He visited the Masood Textile Mills and Interloop Industries Factory where he met workers and heard their problems. He also inspected the Social Security Hospital.

Labour Welfare Department Director General Syeda Kalshoom Hayee and director west division Ghulam Shabbir Kalyar also accompanied him.
