LAHORE: Pakistan’s star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem will leave for France early next month to participate in the Diamond League at the French capital.

The 27-year-old Arshad, the silver medallist of the 2023 World Athletics Championship, has told APP that he will leave for Paris on July 4 to participate in the Diamond League there. In 2021, the player from Mian Channu became the first Pakistan athlete to qualify for the final of a track and field event at an Olympics in Tokyo.

Meanwhile, after the completion of Arshad’s rehabilitation programme, the Athletics Federation of Pakistan has finalised his travel plan till the Olympics.

Salman Butt, Arshad’s coach, will also leave with the athlete to the French capital where he will participate in the Diamond League on July 7.
