ISLAMABAD: The quarter-finalists for both men and women events have been decided at the National Netball Championship being held at Liaquat Gymnasium, Sports Complex on Friday.

In the men’s event, Army, Punjab, Wapda, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sindh, Police, Navy and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) won their respective matches to advance to the last-eight.

Meanwhile, in the women’s event, Wapda, Punjab, Sindh, PNF Elite, Army, Gilgit Baltistan (GB), Cosmopolitan Rose Academy (CRA) and AJK moved into the quarter-finals.

In the round-of-16 fixtures, Sindh defe­a­ted AJK 22-5, Navy beat Punjab 28-17, Bal­o­chistan lost to PNF Elite 25-15 and Army overcame GB 37-18 in the men’s event.

In the women’s event, AJK beat Islamabad 17-7, GB defeated Balochistan 23-10, Wapda thrashed Islamabad 37-4, and CRA beat KP 29-4. PNF and Army received walkovers against Pakistan Police.
