RAWALPINDI: Additional Sessions Judge Raja Faisal Rashid sentenced a murder convict to death and also awarded him seven years imprisonment and a fine of Rs500,000.
In case of non-payment of fine, the convict will undergo imprisonment of three months on two counts.
Ali Shah, 32, a resident of Qissa Khwani Bazaar in Peshawar, was convicted under section 302 (b) PPC for stabbing Sardar Gulfam Hussain to death during a robbery on March 3, 2019.
The convict will also have to pay a fine of Rs500,000 as compensation to the legal heirs of the deceased. The compensation amount shall be recovered as an arrear of land revenue and in case of default the convict will undergo simple imprisonment of six months.
The judge also awarded seven years imprisonment with a fine of Rs50,000 to the convict in another count and in case of failing to pay the fine, he will serve another three months in jail.
