OKARA: A woman was killed while her two sons were injured by gunmen on Friday night.

According to the FIR, Riaz Ahmad, his wife Kausar and their sons Ahmad Fraz and Waseem, along with Riaz’s brother Anwar were on their way to a village on motorcycles when they were stopped by a woman and a man on the road leading to 33/4L. When they stopped, unidentified armed men then appeared and robbed them of cash, CNICs and gold ornaments.

When Fraz resisted, the gunmen shot at and injured Kausar and her sons. When patrolling police arrived at the scene, the gunmen also fired at them. One of the alleged dacoits, Muhammad Hussain, was shot at and injured by his accomplices. The police shifted the injured woman and her sons to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The Shahbore police arrested Hussain and registered a case under sections 302, 324, 353, 396, and 395 of the PPC and the Punjab Armed Ordinance 2015.
