SARGODHA: Thirty-three people, including two brothers and their mother, were booked on Sunday for storming a private hospital and torturing the staff after the death of a newborn.

A pregnant woman was brought to the Primary Health Centre, Chak Mubarak, in Bhera town for delivery where the LHVs referred her to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Bhalwal. However, the family got treatment from a private hospital in Jhawarian where the woman gave birth to a dead baby girl. Her family members got infuriated, terming the hospital doctors for the death.

They called their relatives from their village and about 30 people stormed the private hospital.

The attackers included two brothers, Muhammad Munir, and their mother Nasreen.

Case registered against two brothers and their mother for torturing hospital staff

After entering the hospital, they tortured paramedic Fatima, midwife Samira Bibi and security guard Tauqeer Ahmed. They left the hospital by issuing threats to the staff.

The in-charge of the medical centre reported the matter to police who registered a case.

DIES: An EXEN of the public health engineering died after falling into the pit of a disposal station at Sillanwali.

Public Health EXEN Rana Muhammad Ali went to check the disposal station and walked on a fibre sheet placed to cover the 10 feet deep pit of the pump.

The fibre sheet could not sustain his weight and he fell into the pit, sustaining critical injuries.

He was shifted to the Dr Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to the public health department, the corporation was informed several times about the lack of safety measures but the engineering staff did not bother to take any measures.

Rana Muhammad Ali was a resident of Multan and his body would be sent to his hometown.

In another incident, a young man died and his father was seriously injured in a rickshaw that caught fire after being crushed by a speeding dumper truck.

Muhammad Ashraf of Jora Kalan in Khushab was riding in a rickshaw with his son, Hamad Ashraf, when the three-wheeler was crushed by a speeding dumper on the Jhelum Langarwala Bridge and caught fire.

Hamad died on the spot while Ashraf was critically injured. He was shifted to hospital.

SHOT DEAD: A man shot his father dead over a domestic dispute in tehsil Sillanwali.

Ramadan Jani had an argument with his son Ammar in the morning who opened fire at him and shot him dead. The police arrested the suspect.

RAPE: Two young men raped a married woman in front of her sister in Sargodha.

According to sources, the victim woman, a resident of Fatima Jinnah Colony in the suburbs of the city said that two suspects entered the house by scaling the walls and raped her in front of her sister.

Jhal Chakkian police registered a case on the complaint of the woman’s father.

ARRESTED: The suspect involved in setting six animals of his neighbor on fire at Chak 27-SB Bhagtanwala was arrested.

Muhammad Sarwar had allegedly set six cows and buffaloes of Asif Ali on fire over some dispute with their owner. One buffalo was slaughtered due to its critical conditions and five cattle were being treated for burns.

Bhagtanwala police registered a case and arrested Sarwar.
