BAHAWALPUR: Two minor twins were allegedly suffocated to death in a parked car at Budhla Sannat village near Multan on Saturday night.

According to Rescue 1122 and police sources, eight years old twin brothers Inam and Nauman, sons of Rana Ijaz got accidentally locked in his car parked in a street outside a relative’s house.

They said the father got busy and did not notice the absence of the children.

A couple of hours later, a tractor-trolley driver noticed the children lying unconscious in the car and informed the owner.

Ijaz rushed the children to hospital where doctors declared them dead due to suffocation and heat in the car.

RETURNS HOME: A real estate developer who had allegedly been kidnapped two days ago, reached home on Saturday night.

According to the FIR, got registered by the real estate developer, Ahmed Aalam’s younger brother, he was allegedly abducted on the night of June 28 by unidentified men when he was returning home from his office on Jhangiwali Road.

Alam’s mobile phone and car were found near the Government Sadiq Hospital, Bahawalpur. After he returned home in a rickshaw, police reached there and took him to District Police Officer (DPO) Asad Fraz’s office to meet the officer.

There are rumours that Alam was released by his kidnappers after receiving Rs1 million ransom.

Sources say that about two hours before his return, Alam had talked to his family members by phone and told them he would be back soon.

They said when police officials traced the call, they found the location near Nawaban Mohala in old walled city area, but could not reach the owner of the mobile phone used by Alam.

Later, police tried to claim the credit for the man’s “recovery” in a press conference, saying a special team formed by the DPO was close to arresting the kidnappers.

INJURED: A driver and his helper were injured seriously when a trailer overturned after colliding with a railway crossing gate, blocking Lodhran-Kahrorepucca railway section for rail traffic near Lodran’s Khanewal Chowk on Sunday.

According to Lodhran Rescue 1122 spokesman, a trailer laden with food items of a company was on its way to Karachi from Lahore. As the driver reached near Lodhran, he dozed off and lost control of the vehicle, which collided with the railway crossing gate and overturned on the railway track.

On being informed of the accident, Rescue 1122 teams reached the scene and rescued the driver Riaz (55) and helper Tauseef (22), who were trapped inside the driving cabin of the trailer and shifted them to Lodhran DHQ Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the rescuers removed the trailer from the railway track with the help of heavy machinery after hours-long struggle and cleared it for rail traffic.

As only two trains pass from the railway crossing on the Lodhran-Kahrorepucca section in 24 hours, the rescuers got enough time to clear the track.
