CTD official martyred in Waziristan attack

NORTH WAZIRISTAN: A constable from the police’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) was martyred in a targeted attack here on Sunday, the police said.

They said constable Ansar was targeted early in the morning when he was on his way home in Eidak area of the district. They said that the CTD cop died on the spot and the accused persons escaped. They added that the body was shifted to Mirali Hospital.

The police reached the area and launched an operation to trace the attackers.

In another incident, unknown armed persons set on fire goods, being transported for Aghosh Centre being run by Al-Khidmat Foundation, on Mirali Bypass here on Saturday night.

Police and local sources said that the centre’s watchman was also harassed by the armed men.
