RAWALPINDI: A housemaid was allegedly sexually abused by her employer and his friend in the limits of Ratta Amral, police said on Monday.

The victim, a resident of Babu Lal Hussain Road, lodged a complaint, stating that her employer, Arsalan, initially developed physical relations with her on the pretext of getting married to her. When she insisted on marriage, he refused and started blackmailing her with obscene videos. She further claimed that Arsalan and his friend then sexually abused her.

In another incident, four unidentified robbers held Ishtiaq Ahmad and his family hostage in Dhoke Gujran, stealing Rs400,000 cash and gold jewelry. They also robbed the neighbouring house, taking away gold jewellery and Rs400,000. The loot totalled at Rs800,000 and jewellery stolen was worth Rs2.9 million.

In a similar incident, Mohammad Asif, a resident of Kot Saidan, lost Rs1.5 million, gold jewellery worth Rs1,200,000 and prize bonds worth Rs1,100,000 after unidentified burglars broke into his house in the absence of his family.

In Naseerabad, two gunmen robbed a shop, seizing Rs350,000 along with three mobile phones.

In another incident, Mohammad Yousuf, a resident of Khayaban-i-Sir Syed, was robbed of Rs20,000 by two unidentified motorcycle riders on his way home on Monday.

According to police reports, cash, gold jewellery and prize bonds were looted in just four incidents in 48 hours.

Meanwhile, a labourer, Nazakat Mughal, was found dead in an underground water tank of a commercial plaza in Bahria Town’s phase VIII on Monday.

His body was retrieved and shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.
