RAWALPINDI: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Babar Sarfaraz on Tuesday said that the Safe City project in Rawalpindi will be fully operational by the end of this month, aiding in more effective measures against criminal elements.
He stated this during a visit to the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) along with his team including City Police Officer (CPO) Khalid Hamdani and Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Taimur Khan. RCCI Group Leader Sohail Altaf, President Saqib Rafiq and office bearers welcomed the RPO and his team.
RPO Baber Sarfraz stated that the business community is the backbone of the country’s economy. He highlighted the vital role played by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce in promoting community policing in the society.
RPO Sarfaraz emphasised the essential role of the business community in the economy and assured that all necessary measures would be taken to address their concerns. CPO Khalid Hamdani said that addressing the problems of traders are the first priority for which Rawalpindi police is using all resources.
CTO Taimur Khan apprised the participants on the measures taken to address traffic congestion in the city. The traders’ representatives said that the three chiefs of the Rawalpindi police visiting the Chamber of Commerce for the first time to meet the business community signifies their resolve to strengthen interaction and communication with stakeholders to solve their problems.
Senior Vice President RCCI Muhammad Hamza Sarosh, Vice President Faisal Shahzad, Former Presidents, executive committee members, RCCI members, and members from various trade associations were also present in the meeting.
