GUJRAT: The body of a married woman who was killed by her own family in an honour-related issue will be exhumed for autopsy at village Mangowal Sharqi on July 11.

Raheela, 29, was allegedly suffocated by her husband, Adeel, and her brother on June 22. However, the family had buried her after telling the area people that she had died of a heart attack.

Jalalpur Jattan Saddar police booked at least three members of the family and arrested her husband after registration of a case on charges of murder.

Magistrate Abdul Sattar ordered the exhumation of the body as well as the formation of a medical board by the Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital (ABSTH) to conduct the autopsy after exhumation.

The main suspect, Adeel, is on physical remand whereas the remaining two suspects, including the brother of the woman and her brother-in-law were on interim bail until July 12.
