SARGODHA: Staff at the Primary Health Centre in Chak Mubarak staged a protest and blocked Bhera-Malakwal Road for two hours.

They demanded protection against threats from suspects who had previously assaulted them on June 30.

The incident occurred when a pregnant woman was brought to the health centre for delivery, but was referred to the Bhalwal THQ Hospital due to complications. The family instead sought treatment at a private hospital in Jhawarian, where the woman gave birth to a stillborn baby girl. Enraged, 33 relatives of the patient stormed the health centre.

The protesters demanded protection and warned if their demands were not met, they would be forced to close the health centre.

PROTEST: Workshop owners affiliated with Anjuman Tajran General Bus Stand protested against the ban on entry of dumper trucks and loaders for repairs, saying the ban had caused economic losses to hundreds of families.

President Raja Yakub Janjua led the protest.

He said there were scores of workshops related to trucks and dumpers and the entry ban had rendered workshop operators idle.

He urged the district administration to lift the ban and negotiate a solution to allow workshop owners to continue their business.

The protesters said the ban was causing economic damage and creating more problems, and demanded a suitable plan to allow them to operate and pay their dues to the administration.

SUICIDE: A 16-year-old labourer at a salt factory in Quaidabad, Sargodha, died by setting himself on fire.

In another incident, Muhammad Hussain died due to an electric shock while working at a house.

The police are investigating both incidents.

ACCIDENT: A road accident on Sargodha-Silanwali Road left a man dead and two others injured.

The incident happened when a motorcycle carrying Muhammad Khan, Ghulam Abbas and Nasrullah lost control and slipped on a diversion near Chak 137-SB.

Mohammad Khan succumbed to his injuries, while Ghulam Abbas and Nasrullah were seriously injured. They were taken to the Sillanwali THQ Hospital for treatment.

The police are investigating the accident. The labourers were returning to their native village after working at Chak 126 Gammon stone crushing market hill.
