BAHAWALPUR: The Dhanote police in Lodhran district arrested eight people for torturing and stripping elderly shopkeeper Allah Ditta in a thoroughfare.

The incident’s video went viral on social media.

Muhammad Ali and his four sons, accompanied by four accomplices, attacked the shopkeeper after he declined to sell cement on credit. The suspects dragged Allah Ditta out of his shop, tortured him, and removed his clothes.

The victim was taken to the THQ hospital. The suspects are lodged in Kahror Pacca police station.

COURT: A court in Bahawalpur granted bail to Ali Hassan, who is accused of allegedly stealing $4,800 from his brother-in-law, Agha Sarwar Hussain, a Pakistan-American complainant.

According to the defence counsel, Malik Aslam Javed Naich, on the complaint of Agha Sarwar Hussain, Cantonment police registered a theft case on June 26 and subsequently arrested the accused.
