KARACHI: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference’s Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter will hold a rally in Karachi on Sunday (today) to mark the eighth death anniversary of Kashmiri youth leader Burhan Wani.

Wani, along with two other associates, was killed by Indian troops during a fake encounter in the Kokernag area of Islamabad district in India-held Kashmir on July 8, 2016.

Speaking at a press conference here at the Karachi Press Club, APHC-AJK leader Ghulam Muhammad Safi said that the group would stage a rally from Arts Council to the KPC to mark the eighth death anniversary of the “social media activist Burhan Wani”.

He said that the APHC-AJK wanted every political and religious party in Karachi to participate in the rally and for this purpose he was in touch with the Pakistan Peoples Party and others.

Later, a delegation of APHC-AJK has reached Karachi and met with leadership of various political parties and invited them to participate in the Sunday rally.

The delegates met Mustafa Kamal of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional’s Sardar Abdul Rahim, Munam Zafar of the Jamaat-i-Islami and many others and apprised them of the latest situation in India-held Kashmir.
