NAWABSHAH: A man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly confessed to have buried his week-old ailing baby alive for not being able to afford her treatment.

Media reports suggested that neighbours of the man, Tayyab alias Machar Rajper, had informed the Kandiaro police of Sanghar district about the matter.

A police party picked him up and during interrogation he confessed to have committed the crime, SHO Ibrahim Soomro told the media.

He said the sack in which the suspect had packed the baby was recovered from him and on his lead, the police marked her grave.

The suspect was quoted by police as saying that his baby had been ill since her birth and her treatment required money which he did not have.
