MUZAFFARGARH: Five banks were sealed for being established in illegal buildings during a crackdown by the district administration on illegal markets on Sunday in Khangarh town.

Assistant Commissioner of Muzaffargarh Nasir Shahzad Dogar, along with his team members, inspected the city where he had already sealed four markets during operation.

The administration had issued notices to these banks managers in previous weeks and had given two days time to either get approved the map by paying the fee or relocate but they failed.

On Sunday, the team sealed the bank buildings along Muzaffargarh-Alipur Road in the Khangarh city area. Notices were issued by the government to ensure the approval of buildings and the payment of map fees.

Deputy Commissioner Usman Ali said action against violators will continue. In Khangarh, actions were taken against those building without map approval and non-payment of map fees.

Four markets were sealed on the spot for lack of map approval and non-payment of fees, and similarly, five banks without map approval and fee payment were sealed after issuing warning letters and giving a two-day deadline.

AC Dogar said that, according to the rules and regulations of the government, the approval of all buildings and the payment of map fees would be ensured in every case. Buildings must meet the required standards, or they will be sealed.

Also, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Mohammad Yusuf Chhena conducted a surprise visit on Jhang Morr Road in Muzaffargarh city areas, where he found hundreds of shops and six plazas and markets without approval from the committee administration.

He ordered all to submit their fee vouchers and approved maps within two days, or he would order their sealing. The ADCG said that he would order case registration according to the law.

ACCIDENT: A young man riding a motorcycle died after colliding with an ambulance in Layyah district on Sunday.

The 20-year-old motorcyclist, Mohammad Usman, a resident of Ward No 5, was hit by an ambulance near Committee Chowk and succumbed to his injuries at the DHQ hospital.

Family members accused the rescue ambulance driver of deliberately running over the young man, questioning the high speed in the city. They demanded that the authorities take notice and provide justice. The

Rescue 1122 spokesperson said that the ambulance left the station on an emergency call from the hospital, the motorcyclist suddenly appeared in front of the vehicle, leading to the accident.

The initial investigation showed the vehicle was traveling at 79 km per hour, as per routine. Driver Nadeem has been suspended from job and Mohammad Ajmal was present as the EMT.

District Emergency Officer Sajjad Ahmed and investigation officer Niaz Ahmed have been appointed to investigate the incident. If negligence is proved, departmental action will be taken against the driver.
