GUJRAT: The Mandi Bahauddin police arrested at least two suspects on the charges of raping an 18-year-old deaf and orphan boy near Malakwal Town on Sunday.

The suspects also made a video of assaulting the boy and later uploaded it on the social media after which the local police took notice of the incident.

The Malakwal police station lodged a case against the nominated suspects ‘Ar’ and ‘A’ under sections 376 (3), 292C, 114 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code on the report of Haji Liaqat Ali, the grandfather of the boy.

A spokesman for the police said both the suspects had been arrested from Chak No 20 Sharqi of Mandi Bahauddin district after the registration of a case.

The suspects, he said, were produced before an area magistrate who handed them over to the Malakwal police on a three-day physical remand.

He said the suspects had confessed the crime and their mobile phone that was used in filming the video had also been recovered from them as further investigation was underway.

Malakwal Station House Officer GA Hashmi told the media that the boy had identified the suspects through indicating towards them with his hand.

He said the suspects had lured the boy to a big house in the village where they allegedly subjected him to sexual abuse.

The incident occurred on June 19 the last and the case was lodged on July 1 after the video went viral on the social media.

The complainant told the police that the boy had been deaf by birth.

He alleged that the family of suspects had been putting pressure on him for reconciliation which he did not agree.
