DADU: The SHO and writing head constable (WHC) of Jamshoro police station were taken into custody and put behind bars following escape of a suspected car lifter from their custody, on Monday.

Sources said that Rapid Response Force, Karachi, had handed over the suspect Fida Hussain Khoso, a resident of Qasimabad, to SHO Rahim Gopang and WHC Gulab Khan Khoso at Jamshoro police station.

The suspect easily escaped from the SHO’s office as he was not even handcuffed, said the sources.

The suspect was caught by RRF police when he was coming to Hyderabad after stealing a car in Gulistan-i-Johar, Karachi, said the sources.

Jamshoro SSP Tariq Nawaz said that Sindh IGP had issued orders to take action against the officials for dereliction of duty.

Police had registered a case against the SHO and the WHC on a complaint lodged by ASI Ali Bux Chandio, in-charge of Gulshan Shahbaz police check-post.
