KARACHI: The chief executive officer (CEO) of a private company was killed allegedly by an employee over a ‘financial matter’ inside their office on the fourth floor of Kawish Crown Plaza located on Sharea Faisal on Monday evening.

SSP-East Dr Farrukh Raza said that Naveed Khan, 42, was stabbed and killed by Shoaib Shah, 27. The suspect was arrested.

SSP Raza said that during the initial probe, it transpired that the victim was the CEO of a call centre. He said a dispute arose between the victim and employee over ‘non-payament of salary or any other financial matter’ which led to the murder.

A section of the media reported that the victim was the CEO of a foreign software company while the suspect was a software engineer.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

Suspect shot dead in ‘encounter’

A suspect was shot dead in an ‘encounter’ in Korangi on Monday.

Police said two suspects were looting a citizen near Coast Guard Chowrangi when a police party reached there.

In an ensuing exchange of firing, one suspect was killed while his accomplice fled.

The police claimed to have recovered one pistol and a cell phone from the crime scene. The body was shifted to the JPMC where his identity could not be ascertained immediately.

Young woman killed

A 20-year-old woman was shot dead allegedly by her brother during a family dispute in Gulshan-i-Ghazi on Monday evening, police said.

The Ittehad Town police said Ms Sawera was shot and killed by her brother inside their home in Block-C.

DIG-South Syed Asad Raza said the motive could not be ascertained immediately.

Victim’s father Mohammed Nazeer told the investigators that he was at work when he received the information about the killing of his daughter. He said his young son, the accused, had come from their native place around three days ago.

The victim was married and the mother of an infant child.

Woman found murdered

A young married woman was found murdered in Bin Qasim on Monday.

Police said the body of a women identified as Mrs Naseema, 25, was recovered from her home in Data Nagar.

Her husband Saindad Solangi told reporters that he worked at a private company. When he returned home after work, he found the wife brutally slaughtered.

He said he had doubts about the involvement of certain people in the murder and informed the police as well.

The body was shifted to the JPMC for medico-legal formalities.
