KARACHI: A man was gunned down in North Karachi in a suspected targeted attack on Monday, police said.

SSP-Central Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqi said that as Abdul Qayyum, 50, left home on his motorcycle, armed assailants opened fire on him and rode away. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

It appeared to be a targeted killing, but the exact motive would be ascertained after a proper probe, the official said.

The victim was an estate agent in Samanabad and also a Nikah Khawan. His elder brother, Shafi, was also shot dead in the recent past.
