KHYBER: A local court found a man guilty of narcotics trafficking on Wednesday and sentenced him to life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 500,000.

The Additional Sessions Judge Shaukat Ali ruled that the prosecution had proved its case against the accused Zawar Shah and the evidence on record solidly connected him with the commission of offence.

Officials from the public prosecution department stated that the accused was travelling in a car when he was intercepted by a police party. During the search of the vehicle, the police recovered a sack containing 36 kilogrammes of charas in it.

They stated that the chemical examination report of the samples of the recovered contraband was also positive.
