DERA MURAD JAMALI: Three tribesmen were killed in an armed clash between two groups in Dera Murad Jamali area of Nasirabad district on Friday.

According to police, the cause of the armed clash between two groups of the Rad tribe was an honour issue.

Police said some armed men of one group opened fire on a their rival group’s member, identified as Dur Muhammad, near Pat Feeder Canal area. He jumped into the canal to save himself, but could not survive and drowned.

After receiving information about the attack, armed men of his group attacked the house of their opponents in Manjodhori area, triggering a heavy exchange of fire which continued for half an hour.

The firing left two people, one each from both sides, dead.

Local police rushed to the area after receiving the information about the clash and shifted bodies of the victims to Dera Murad Jamali hospital where the deceased were identified as Nazeer Ahmad and Abdul Haleem.

“The cause of armed attack was honour killing issue which sparked the armed clash,” a senior police officer told Dawn. He said police are trying to arrest the people involved in the firing.
