GILGIT: A minor girl was burnt to death after fire erupted in her house in Nagar Khas on Saturday.

According to locals, the girl could have been saved had there been a fire extinguisher.

According to the police, fire erupted in a house situated in Nagar Khas of Nagar district on Friday morning due to unknown reason.

The fire spread throughout the house, trapping the four-year-old girl. Locals rushed to the area and tried to control the fire and save the girl but could not do so.

Police said fire brigade arrived at the site from Aliabad Hunza, however, by that time the girl had lost her life and the house was completely destroyed. Police said parents of the minor were not at home.
