KARACHI: Residents of the metropolis witnessed another hot, sticky and humid day on Sunday due to disruption in sea breeze, the Met department said.

The Met Office recorded maximum temperature at 35.6 degrees Celsius with 62 per cent humidity, which made the feels-like temperature much higher.

It has warned that the hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail this week while the temperature could touch 38°C.

However, the influence of a low pressure area could lead to rains in the city by the next week.

The people of the city have seen some relief after long spells of hot and humid weather that included back-to-back two heatwaves.

According to experts, the heatwave that lasted from June 23 till June 30 was the hottest period in the city after the 2015 heatwave that killed over 1,200 people and made hundreds others ill.
