SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Two children died in a landmine explosion in Bangiwala area of Sararogha tehsil of the Upper South Waziristan tribal district on Monday evening.

Upper South Waziristan district police officer Malik Habib confirmed the deaths of two children in the landmine blast, which occurred when they were playing near their house.

The deceased children were identified as eight-year-old Ayaan and nine-year-old Talha.

The DPO said the affected family belonged to Mehsud tribe.

It merits a mention here that it is the fourth incident of landmine explosion in Upper South Waziristan during the last four months. Most of the victims were children.
