TOBA TEK SINGH: As many as 46 passengers, including including 31 men and 15 women, were injured critically as an overloaded bus overturned on Jaranwala-Nankana Sahib Road, Faisalabad, on Tuesday.

According to Rescue 1122, the bus was travelling from Sialkot to Fort Abbas and met with the accident near Chak 562 GB Zafarwal in the Bachiana police station area.

A Faisalabad police spokesperson said the RPO took notice of the overloading, and on his direction, Bachiana police arrested bus driver Sarwar of Vehari, after registering a case against him under sections 279 and 337G of the Pakistan Penal Code for loading 110 passengers - more than double the bus’s seating capacity - which caused the accident.

All 46 injured passengers were shifted by Faisalabad and Nankana Sahib Rescue 1122 ambulances to Nankana Sahib DHQ Hospital.

The injured were identified as Aslam, Abdullah, Shahbaz, Maqbool, Khalid, Shamas, Rehan, Azizan Bibi, Tahir, Allah Rakha, Imtiaz, Abbas, Ramzanan Bibi, Hamza, Farzana, Ummatul, Javed, Rehmat Bibi, Suhail, Muhammad Khan, Mubashir, Karam Bibi, Muniran Bibi, Naziran Bibi, Sheraz, Abdullah, Ali, Mateen, Asia Bibi, Rehmat Bibi, Sadia, Anwar Bibi, Samina, Ishrat Bibi, Kashif, Manzoor, Suhail, Munawra Bibi, Sheela, Javed, Meerab, and Tanweer.

ACCIDENTS: A woman died and a couple injured seriously when their car overturned near Sahianwala interchange on motorway M-4, Faisalabad, on Tuesday.

Rescue 1122 said the reason behind the accident could not be ascertained.

It said all three were on way to Faisalabad from Lahore. The deceased was identified as Muqaddas Murad (20) while wounded couple identified as Umer Farooq (25) and his wife Fareeha Bibi (23) were shifted to Allied hospital.

In another incident, a youth died as a result of collision of his motorcycle with a loader motorcycle rickshaw on Tuesday at Gojra.

Police said Nasir Masih of Chak 181 GB and rickshaw driver Zeeshan of Chak 1v80 GB were injured. They were shifted to Gojra THQ hospital where Nasir succumbed to his wounds.

VISIT: Faisalabad’s additional district and sessions judge Muhammad Iqbal Haral and civil judge Qamar Abbas Ranjha visited central jail and borstal on Tuesday.

They granted bails to 25 prisoners detained in petty cases against their personal surety bonds. They also inspected the kitchen and different barracks where they heard the prisoners regarding the problems they had been facing.

RAPE: A prayer leader was arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl at Chak 496-GB in Tandlianwala tehsil, Faisalabad.

Complainant ‘A’ informed Mamukanjan police in his FIR registered under section 376 of PPC that his daughter went to mosque to learn Quran where suspect ‘B’ took her to a room of the mosque and allegedly raped her.

Station House Officer Asadullah Khokhar said rape had been confirmed by Mamukanjan rural health centre lady doctor.
