KARACHI: The American Charge d’Affaires in Pakistan, Mr Hooker A. Doolittle, has suggested frequent exchange of information between Pakistan and the United States as a means of fostering closer understanding between the two countries. In an interview to Radio Pakistan representative in Karachi, Mr Doolittle said that the most practical way of achieving this end would be to have an interchange of professors and scholars between the two countries. More Pakistani students should be sent to American universities for advanced studies and training, he added.
Commenting on the trade relations between Pakistan and the USA, he said, that in order to established extensive markets, Pakistani manufacturers and exporters must improve the quality of their products and standardise them to the level of other countries’ products. Referring to the exports of carpets wool from Pakistan, Mr Doolittle said he had received a number of complaints about the unsatisfactory quality… . He expressed his satisfaction at the recent decision of the Government of Pakistan to effect the grading of Pakistani wool.
