KARACHI: A young woman wearing an ‘school uniform’ was found dead in Khokhrapar on Thursday, said police and hospital officials.

They added that the body was recovered from a garbage dump.

Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed said that the body of a woman in her mid-30 was brought to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

Apparently, there were no injury marks, she added.

The body was in an advanced stage of decomposition and her cause of death was reserved.

Dr Syed opined that she might have died because of “extreme weather” in the metropolis. She said that because of such hot conditions, the body of even one day, appeared to be three days old.

Khokhrapar police SHO Adeel Shah said that during the initial probe, it transpired that the uniform which she wore had been changed by the school concerned around two years ago.

The officer hinted at the possibility that someone might have given her the old uniform to wear.

The SHO said that the deceased appeared to be a drug addict.
