KARACHI: The Pakistan Railways has announced a one per cent increase in passenger train fares and a two per cent increase in freight rates.

The new fares will be effective from Friday (July 19).

The one per cent increase is applicable on all passenger trains including all outsourced trains.

The two per cent increase in freight rates will be levied on all goods traffic.

However, it will not be applicable on Pakistan Oilfields Limited products, LHC, LMC, shunting charges, wharfrage, demurrage and destination charges.
